Creating Email Sequence in Active Campaign
On the left hand sidebar click “automations”
Click “Create an automation”
Start one from Scratch
You will then select what your first trigger is
Make sure you are selecting the correct list with the contacts you are wanting to receive the email
It will only run once
You will then add a condition
This is helpful with opt-in sequences so that way when someone submits their email they can be put into the process
Next you will add an if/then type condition
If they opt in then will start receiving emails
If no then the sequence wont start/they will not receive the emails/automation
Next you will put in the email you want to use
Unless you have a specific template to use I would recommend using the previous campaign template from the “Dr. Grenger” campaign with the specific header shown below
Once the email has been loaded the same way you would a normal internal send in Active Campaign you would put how many days until the next email
Next you will add the following trigger (if/then) condition on what needs to happen in order to get the next email in the sequence
This shows what happens if they did purchase after the first email, or if they did not, what the tags would look like.
Next you will have the “yes” or “no” option
Yes (they purchased) they would not need to continue in this specific automation therefore the automation would end.
But if they did NOT purchase then the automation would continue and you would repeat the process above so it would look like this
Once you have the rules and tags in place you can just copy and paste it over and over until the automation is done.
NOTE: THIS IS ONLY IF OTHER TRIGGERS ARE NOT NECESSARY
If other triggers are necessary throughout the rest of the automation you would add those into the if/then part of the automation choices.
